My interest in yoga began when I needed to find a balance between my inner and outer world experience. The stress of my teaching job left me with little energy to devote to my own self-care. I started practicing yoga once a week and found great comfort in it. It was my time to connect with my inner self and know that I was finding balance through movement and breath for at least a couple of hours a week. After five years, I was ready to expand my practice, and I started my yoga teacher training. I trained at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, and trained to be a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) at the YogaLife Institute.

IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist
Yoga has been a big part of my life for more than six years. My practice has helped me grow stronger, inspired me to live each moment more mindfully, and provided me with endless hope for the future.

I completed my 200 YTT with Humble Haven Yoga in Richmond, specializing Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. I have a true passion for teaching yoga in any format. In my classes, I combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice and interest for this transformative discipline.

Life has been a very colorful journey for me so far. With the guidance from my natural intuition and the strength of my willpower, I have been able to help people, so I use yoga as a medium to pursue that dream.

Life has been a very colorful journey for me so far. With the guidance from my natural intuition and the strength of my willpower, I have been able to help people, so I use yoga as a medium to pursue that dream. Every day is only the beginning and a fresh start to make a difference in the world. As I start each day I find new ways to nourish my soul so that I may extend insight to whomever I come in contact with.

I started practicing yoga when I was pregnant with my daughter over 20 years ago. Yoga became part of my daily routine – to help me find balance between my work and family.

My love for yoga led me to complete the Yoga Teacher Training Program at Glenmore Yoga and Wellness Center in early 2020. As a psychotherapist by day, I use yoga as a tool to help others and for my own self-care. I incorporate the practice of yoga for my clients who suffer from symptoms of anxiety and depression. I try to bring aspects of my yoga practice with me into all areas of my life. In a time where we are all overwhelmed and overextended with work, finances, health, and family, a little mindfulness, and pranayama can go a long way.

I was introduced to yoga while I was attending college through my meditation instructor as a way to help me focus and sit still for meditation.

I was introduced to yoga while I was attending college through my meditation instructor as a way to help me focus and sit still for meditation. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2014. The focus of my training was in Ashtanga, Power, and Iyengar Yoga. I continued my training in Yoga Therapy and completed 500 hours to become a Certified Yoga Therapist in 2017 (C-IAYT). Yoga has had an amazing and powerful impact on my life. I enjoy sharing what I have learned through teaching. I am a Level 1 certified Sound Healer and Reiki Master. As a practicing Physical Therapist for 20 years, I have had a lot of experience with how stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression affect the physical body. I have found that by addressing the emotional body makes a huge difference in my outcomes. We can address physical pain and weakness, but they will not fully heal unless we also address the overall energetic needs of the individual. This led me to Yoga Therapy and Reiki modalities of healing. Reiki addresses the body’s energy in a gentle and easy way. It can offer the client insight, tools, and awareness that can guide them toward healing, authenticity, inner peace, and self-acceptance.

Julian has always had a passion for the creative arts and, when introduced to the practice of Sound Healing and Therapy when given his first singing bowl as a gift, he began researching the depths of sound and its powerful healing techniques.

Specializing in a variety of instruments from the digeridoo to flutes, singing bowls and drums Julian has created a unique Sound Healing Experience called Elemental Sound Healing. Discovering relationships between sound healing and nature he calls on the 5 elements of Air, Earth, Water, Fire, and Ether to channel through each practice to bring balance the human system or what he likes to refer to as homeostasis.

I’ve practiced yoga for over 20 years, became Reiki attuned in 2018, earned my first 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2021, followed by sound facilitator and ayurvedic certifications in 2022.

My journey began as a way to heal from chronic pain and PTSD, focusing on yoga for pain management and mobility. I enjoy teaching beginners and exploring yogic philosophy, physics, frequencies, and languages. I love to create art, garden, engage in water activities, and make music. I enjoy the alchemy of blending these passions into my practice.

I hold a Biology degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with a massage therapy degree from Brightpoint Community College. I have trained in various yoga styles, including children’s yoga with Nitya Living in Richmond VA, and am currently pursuing my 500-hour certification through Siddhi Yoga International in India.

I started teaching yoga in 2023 after completing my 200-hour training at the Yoga Dojo in Richmond.
Spreading healing and hope by growing and sharing my practice is my ultimate goal.

I’m committed to remaining a lifelong student and honoring yoga’s roots. I aim to help others experience greater peace, ease, resilience, and joy every day. I believe that people need other people, and I strive to make my classes a welcoming space for all.

You can find me on my mat, digging in the garden, sipping tea with a good book, or dancing around the kitchen with my two cats.

Annie Colegrove is an Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner who uses her voice, imagery, and energy, while providing a “safe container” for others to experience their healing journey and feel supported. A time and place to be seen, heard, and nurtured.

She attended Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) to study Mind-Body Transformational Psychology. She was able to dig deep within, and through this process has healed herself while learning to use her gifts to hold space for others’ healing. Knowing well that she cannot heal others… but can provide that “safe container” and tools to others through their own healing journeys.

Now, an accomplished Certified Reiki Master Teacher with focus in Shamanic Practices, Clinical Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, Transformational Empowerment Coach and Energy Worker, she has tools to guide others through their own personal healing journeys.
